It’s hot out there (as if you hadn’t noticed), but here’s a great way to chill out: With the new alcoholic slushies that are invading bars across America. Perhaps you’ve heard of Frosé, a frozen version of the favorite pink wine, that’s popping up all over.

Or maybe you’ve been lucky enough to try the Kirin Slushy (yup, beer slush) at Boston’s Banyan Bar & Refuge, or the slushy Negroni served by Parson’s Chicken & Fish in Chicago. Elsewhere, spiked milkshakes provide a sweet buzz on summer nights.

If you want to DIY this trend, it’s simple: Order a set of those Slushy Mugs you remember from your childhood, and make your own drink. You can get creative with smashed up watermelon and other seasonal fruit or go basic and just pour in some vino. Or just use your blender; Rachael Ray has a tasty Frosé recipe here. Cheers!
