From Paris to Peru, Bridget Morin is bold in her travels and with her stock portfolio (more on that in a second). Based in a tranquil town in Indiana, Morin has taken multiple jaunts with NextTribe and travels the world with her partner. She’s been just about everywhere it seems, but says, “I haven’t been to Asia yet but I’m hopeful that’ll change soon.”
NextTribe takes small groups of women ages 45+ on fun, transformational trips around the globe. See where we’re traveling next!
When not jetting to a new destination, she can be found taking a yoga class at her local YMCA, spending time with her girlfriends, and watching the stock market, which she tracks every day. She also uses her travels to inform her picks: She recently went to San Francisco and got around in self-driving rideshares. “It’s (AI technology), the way of the future, it’s risky, but I think it’s the big thing”, says Morin. She believes in trying new things: Whether they are good or bad experiences, it’s all part of living a full life.

What convinced you to take your first trip with NextTribe?
Two years after I lost my husband, I wanted to do some traveling, safely. After a large, coed group trip to Italy fell short of my expectations, I found NextTribe on Facebook, and it was right up my alley. I was drawn to the Troncones trip thanks to my love of yoga, so I went and was hooked.
How many NextTribe trips have you gone on?
Eight going on nine. I’ve been to Troncones three times now, Paris, Santa Fe, NYC, Cuba, San Miguel, and I am going to Peru this year.
Check out the Peru trip Bridget is taking this fall. You could be traveling with her.
What’s your favorite thing about traveling in a group of all-women? How does it differ from traveling solo or with a partner?
It’s so comforting to be on a trip with women in the same age bracket because we have so many commonalities; we’re all kind of going through the same things. What I love most are the individual connections that you create with women who may live on the other side of the country with a completely different lifestyle. But there’s an understanding amongst us, and you’re able to open up and take on new experiences in a way that’s totally different from traveling with a partner.
What I love most about traveling with a group of women is the connections you create, even if you have completely different lifestyles.
Favorite place to visit and why?
Kenya on a safari. I loved seeing the animals in their beautiful natural habitat, but what stuck with me the most was the people who lived there. They were all just so happy and kind; spending time with them really made my trip.
What’s your dream travel destination?
I would love to explore Asia, like Taiwan, Vietnam, or Thailand. My daughter-in-law is from Thailand and has the best things to say about it.
Do you believe in wearing sweatpants on the plane? If not, what’s your go-to outfit?
I’ve worn sweatpants in the past. I’m not opposed to them. My go-to is just anything that’s comfortable…bonus points if it has a stretchy waistband
As a frequent traveler, do you have a favorite souvenir?
I’m not much of a knick-knack person but I love my photos. I have framed photos from all my travels, but my favorite is the photo of the Maasai tribe from Kenya. It’s hanging in my living room and brings me so much joy everytime I look at it.
Experience New York City like a local–the way Bridget did last year.
Do you have any travel rituals or tips that you swear by?
Before going on my own trips, I conduct heavy research on the location. I prefer to travel off-the-the beaten path and immerse myself in the culture of the place I’m visiting.
