I was officially diagnosed with Ménière’s disease. It is a swelling in the inner ear canals and excessive fluid. I’m amazed how many people reached out on Facebook about their experiences with vertigo and Ménière’s. Ménière’s has no cause or cure but you can varying degrees of it. Mild to severe. You learn the signs and what brings it on. I’m taking an extra diuretic, cutting sodium and reduced caffeine. Also daily exercises to retrain your eyes and brain to coordinate to help deal with the feeling of being off balance. When I’ve had a drink (alcohol and I’m tired toward the evening I notice it a bit more. Lots of info sorry, but there is a lot involved. Balance 360 in Austin is amazing where I’m doing PT.
