Somewhere in your closet is a pair of blue jeans that are calling out for attention. They want to be worn, but you may feel you have too many pairs like them, or they feel out of date, or they’re just not special enough. DIY bleached jeans to the rescue!
Here NextTribe fashion editor Kimberly Cihlar tells us how to update denim, making your jeans more current, more wearable, with nothing more than a bleach pen, available at any grocery store.
“It’s super easy,” says Kim. “You just take the bleach pen…and I did circles. You could do squiggles, triangles, whatever floats your boat. You could do this on a pair of black jeans, you could do it on shorts, you could do it on a dress.”
This is a great way to make your wardrobe more personal, more connected to who you are. “There’s a way to take what’s current and fashionable and redefine it and make it your own,” Kim says.
Plus, re-using instead of buying new fits in nicely with NextTribe’s commitment to the environment. DIY bleached jeans are truly a win/win situation.
