This month, a few of our favorite females have “big” birthdays to celebrate —those nice round numbers that everyone loves to notice. So here is our salute to two fantastic actors and one cultural icon who prove that age is nothing but a number. Well, maybe an asset. Look at all that this trio is up to!
March 4: Actor and comedian Catherine O’Hara, 65
Currently seen on the fabulous Schitt’s Creek, Catherine O’Hara has been a comedic force to be reckoned with since her days on Second City Television. You’ve seen her as the, um, distracted mom who left Kevin home alone in Home Alone and Home Alone 2, as well as in Beetlejuice, For Your Consideration, Six Feet Under, and a spate of other movies and series. Welcome to 65, Catherine!
March 23: Catherine Keener 60
With her signature sultry voice, Catherine has fascinated audiences in divergent roles, from playing the woman in The 40-Year-Old Virgin who helped Steve Carell lose that status to a tea-stirring villain in Get Out. She’s also starred in many indie flicks and earned Oscar nominations for her roles in Being John Malkovich and Capote. Next, she’ll star with Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, and Andy Garcia in the upcoming Amazon web series Modern Love. Sixty is looking like a very good year for her.
March 25: Gloria Steinem, 85
Called the “Mother of Feminism,” Gloria Steinem has championed women’s rights for decades through activism: her bold thoughts have inspired so many women and men. She’s the one who said, “A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle” and “Don’t think about making women fit the world—think about making the world fit women.” Here’s to more rallying cries in the year ahead.
