Sarah Gold is quite impressive. NextTribe Editor Jeannie Ralston first met her on a ski trip in Aspen, where she was game and fun, getting on the slopes every day even though she wasn’t feeling well. Later she learned she had pneumonia. She is an intrepid traveler, often going on trips to far-flung places alone (as she wrote about here). This week we’re featuring her story on the older women she’s met in her travels that have inspired her to keep seeking adventure. Sarah made her first international journey (to her mother’s native country, Australia) when she was barely two years old—and she’s been on the move ever since. Her travel articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure, Departures, New York Magazine, Food & Wine, and many other publications; eventually, she hopes to settle down and write a book. First, though, she’s aiming to fulfill a personal goal of visiting 50 countries by her 50th birthday.
