Alyssa Ortega Coppelman
Alyssa Ortega Coppelman is a photography consultant and photobook editor based in Austin, Texas. She works directly with photographers to edit their bodies of work into photobooks, zines, and cohesive portfolios. She is also Art Editor at Oxford American magazine, creatively pairing existing work with essays on a variety of subjects.variety of subjects. For 20+ years, Alyssa worked with Harper’s Magazine—most recently as Deputy Art Director—and continues to freelance for them. She has also worked at National Geographic as a senior photo editor, and as Archival Producer for PBS NewsHour’s Emmy-nominated interview series, Brief But Spectacular, finding and licensing creative and sensitie visual accompaniment for each episode. Elizabeth Krist
Elizabeth Krist was a photography editor at National Geographic magazine for over 20 years, and is now on the board of Women Photograph, advises the Eddie Adams Workshop, and is a contributing editor for Virginia Quarterly Review. She curated National Geographic’s Women of Vision exhibition and book, as well as five Photoville installations. Elizabeth helped program National Geographic’s Photography Seminar for over a dozen years. She teaches for International Center of Photography, and collaborates with the New York Portfolio Review, Apple, Vital Impacts, Leica, and the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards. She recently finished editing two 2026 books with Michael Yamashita. NPPA recognized her with their 2025 Outstanding Leader Award.
Akili-Casundria Ramsess
Akili-Casundria Ramsess is a Pulitzer-winning picture editor and former Executive Director of the National Press Photographers Association, with a distinguished career spanning major media organizations including the Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, and Orlando Sentinel. She has established herself as a prominent visual journalist and editor and has served on advisory boards for the Eddie Adams Workshop and the National Association of Black Journalists Visual Task Force.
