Who knew that those little plastic recorders that elementary school kids use could do so much good? Lynn Brooks, that’s who. Almost 10 years ago, she started a non-profit that brings recorders to students in developing countries and builds sustainable music programs in schools. Her organization has the catchy name Recorders Without Borders. But that’s not all the work multi-talented Lynn does–and has done. Since 1980 Lynn has been a small business consultant, a Destination Imagination team manager, an Inventor Camp founder, a children’s writer, a banking product development specialist, a marketing director for a start-up banking software company, and the founder of several start-up enterprises. That’s one beautiful thing about women like us–we’ve worn many hats in our lives.
Watch here the story behind her ingenious non-profit, Recorders Without Borders.
