As of April 1, 2023, our founder Jeannie Ralston will be homeless–in a sense. Her lease on her NYC apartment is up and she’s trying to decide where to go next. She was going to make a list of cities to consider as a full-time home, but then she had a better idea. Why not sample various cities with the help of the Tribe?
So Jeannie plans to spend a year—from April 2023 to March 2024—living one month in different cities around the country, cities where she has a pal who will help show her around, introduce her to cool women, tell her where to find the best deal on eyelash extensions. That kind of thing.
Jeannie will write about each city and the women she meets there, so we all can join the journey and enjoy the discovery process. Her articles, social posts, and newsletter updates will offer a colorful portrait of women in our age group in America. (Maybe becoming a book at some point?) We also hope to set up NextTribe chapters in each city.
All of us at NextTribe feel that this is timely and relevant exploration because many of us over 45 have new freedom, now that children are raised and with ever-more-prevalent remote work options. Many of us, either alone or with romantic partners or friends, are taking advantage of this new mobility by looking at where they want to live, rather than where they have to live.
If you want to be host to Jeannie in your city, fill out the form below. We will be sifting through recommendations until the end of the year and then announce her itinerary in early January.
We want to get to know you and your city!
