Imagine reading your mother’s memoir and learning some startling facts about her younger, freer self. That’s what happened to Catherine Hiller when her mother asked her to edit her memoir, Passport to Paris, which was published this month. We love that Catherine got a fresh look at someone she thought she knew well and that she was able to express the attendant surprise and admiration so beautifully in her piece this week. A perfect Mother’s Day tribute. When she’s not editing books, Catherine is writing them. She’s the author of five novels, a book of short stories, and most recently, Just Say Yes: A Marijuana Memoir. Her new novel, The Feud, about work friends who become bitter enemies, will be published this fall.
